With over 40 years of distinguished experience in law enforcement, investigation, and training, Mr. Anderson brings unparalleled expertise to the development and delivery of science-based investigative programs.
Federal Training Leadership and Science-Based Methodology Development
Mr. Anderson is a retired Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General (DOJ/OIG), where he served as Program Manager and Instructor at the Inspector General Criminal Investigator Academy (IGCIA) at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA. At the IGCIA, he was responsible for managing the Advanced Interviewing for Inspector General Investigators and Interviewing for Fraud Auditors programs, while also instructing in several other basic and advanced programs focusing on interviewing, interrogation, employee misconduct, investigation planning, and specialized areas of investigation, audit, and inspection work.
Prior to his IGCIA assignment, Mr. Anderson served as a Detailed Instructor with the Behavioral Science Division (BSD) at FLETC, where he instructed both basic and advanced courses for uniform law enforcement and criminal investigators. During his tenure with BSD, he played a pivotal role in designing, constructing, and presenting the division’s Advanced Interviewing program, while also writing and modifying curriculum requirements to incorporate the latest scientific research and best practices.

Mr. Anderson has designed and instructed specialized courses for numerous organizations, including the FLETC, the IGCIA, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Energy, Department of Commerce, U.S. Agency for International Development, Small Business Administration, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Labor, and countless other federal, state, and local organizations.
Distinguished Law Enforcement Career
Mr. Anderson’s comprehensive law enforcement career began as a Forensic Chemist with the New York State Police, where he specialized in toxicology and drug chemistry after obtaining his master’s degree in forensics. His federal service includes positions as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, handling general crimes, foreign counterintelligence, drug investigations, and international terrorism cases. He also served as a Special Agent with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Office of Investigations, conducting investigations involving fraud, abuse, and corruption regarding NRC-regulated entities, and later with the DOJ/OIG investigating allegations of fraud, abuse, corruption, and waste in federal agencies under DOJ jurisdiction.
His state-level experience includes service as Deputy Inspector General and Director of Internal Audit in the New York State Office of the Inspector General, assigned to the Division of Military and Naval Affairs and other state agencies. He also served as a Confidential Investigator with statewide agency responsibilities. Additionally, Mr. Anderson has corporate sector experience as a Director of Security, supervising staff and executing comprehensive security programs.
Academic Contributions and Teaching Excellence
Mr. Anderson contributed significantly to criminal justice education as an adjunct instructor in undergraduate criminal justice programs at Alvernia College and Lycoming College in Pennsylvania. He developed and instructed courses in terrorism, forensics, and fraud and white collar crime, while also providing specialized seminars in leadership training, ethics, and coordinating effective interaction between auditors and investigators for various educational, state, and federal agencies.

Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from St. Lawrence University and a Master of Science degree in forensic chemistry from Northeastern University. He graduated from the FBI Academy in 1983 and has completed extensive specialized training throughout his career in interviewing, leadership, training, forensics, terrorism, and white collar crime and fraud matters, consistently incorporating the latest scientific developments into his professional practice and instruction methodologies.
